Ages 10–16 | 6-Week Evening Programme

The Deck 747 Flight Academy is a structured six-week aviation programme designed for young people who are serious about flying and want a clear, informed introduction before committing to PPL or commercial pilot training.

This is not a simulator experience. It is a professionally instructed pre-course that introduces the fundamentals of flying, airline-style operations, and cockpit teamwork in a realistic and supportive environment.

Delivered in our full-scale simulator, the Academy allows students and families to understand what pilot training really involves — helping them make a confident and informed investment decision.

What the Flight Academy Covers

• How aircraft fly and are controlled

• Use of flight instruments and cockpit displays

• Basic navigation and flight planning concepts

• Airline-style teamwork and communication

• Operating as part of a professional flight crew

• A complete end-of-course airline-style line flight

No previous flying experience is required.

Programme Structure

• Duration: 6 weeks

• Session length: 90 minutes per week

• Schedule: Weekday evenings

• Start dates: From late February

• Students: 2 per course

• Instructors: 2 professional instructors present at all times

Weeknight, time, and exact start dates will be agreed where possible around parent and child availability following the suitability process. While we will endeavour to accommodate preferences, specific days and times cannot be guaranteed.

Suitability & Standards

To maintain high standards and ensure a positive experience for all students, each place is subject to a short suitability check prior to final confirmation. This is not a test of ability.

The suitability check considers maturity, engagement, and the ability to participate in a structured group environment.

Payment & Booking

• Total course price: £995 per student

• This listing secures a place with a £350 deposit

• If the suitability check identifies concerns that mean the course does not proceed, the deposit will be fully refunded

• Once suitability is confirmed, the deposit becomes non-refundable

• A payment plan for the remaining balance will be agreed directly with the family and spread across the duration of the course

Attendance & Catch-Up

We understand that occasional absence may be unavoidable. If a student cannot attend a session:

• That week’s course content will be emailed to the parent

• Instructors will summarise key elements during the following session where possible

• Missed group sessions cannot be rescheduled

• Parents may choose to book a paid one-to-one catch-up session prior to the next scheduled class

Assessment & Completion

Students will be expected to:

• Complete light home learning between sessions

• Take part in weekly refresher checks

• Complete a final written knowledge check

• Complete a final in-simulator flying assessment

Certificates of Completion are issued upon satisfactory participation and completion of the programme.

Supervision Requirement

For safeguarding and child protection reasons, a responsible adult must remain on-site at The Deck 747 for the duration of each weekly session.

Standard terms and conditions apply.

For questions prior to booking, please contact info@thedeck747.com.

If your child falls outside this age bracket or you are an adult wishing to attend yourself, please contact us to discuss options.
